Philippine Steroid - Balut

A balut is a fertilized duck egg with a nearly developed embryo inside that is boiled and eaten in the shell. NOTE: Boiled meaning cooked, most people thought Filipinos eat balut uncooked. Nasty! Balut is commonly sold as streetfood in the Philippines. It's not only common in the Philippines but also in other Asian countries such as in Laos (where it is called Khai Luk), Cambodia (Pong tea khon in Cambodian), and Vietnam (Trứng vịt lộn or Hột vịt lộn in Vietnamese).

Note: I won't eat if the duckling is visible like this. Yuck!

Balut is very high in protein and some even say it's a good aphrodisiac. Balut is a very good choice of diet for body builders and athletes.



Kermit Cintron accused Manny Pacquiao of using steroids, Floyd Mayweather Sr. states his thoughts that Manny Pacquiao is on steroids or some form of "supplement". Correction, Pacquiao is gobbling the Philippine Steroid - Balut during his past time!
